EXOGEN App
The Exogen Ultrasound Bone Healing System is a compact, strap-on device that patients use daily to accelerate the mending of bone fractures. The system is completely portable, so these patients can use it just about anywhere they can sit quietly for about 20 minutes.
Bioventus, Exogen’s parent company, asked us to create an app that would help their patients to set up the device and track their sessions. Considering the system’s portability, we recommended a phone-based app. A phone-based app would also greatly increase the patient’s ease and comfort level when it came to operating the bone-healing system
The app we eventually developed comes with videos and simple animations that guide first-time users through everything from putting on the device to tracking sessions and recording them on a calendar.
Patients looking for something to keep themselves entertained during a session can even watch one of the nifty MOA animations depicting exactly how ultrasound stimulates their bones to heal more quickly at the cellular level. And we put all this functionality into one very straightforward app that anyone with an Android phone can download for free from Google Play and App Store.
