Essilor Lens Select

Here’s another cool sales app we developed for Essilor--this one consumer facing. If you’ve purchased a pair of eyeglasses recently, you know that it’s no longer a matter of just picking out the right frames. You also have a variety of options to choose from when it comes to the lenses, from glare coatings to refractive patterns

Essilor-Luxotica asked us to make a tablet app that eyecare professionals and their customers could work through together to choose the best lens options for the customer’s lifestyle. But Essilor also wanted the app to demonstrate the benefits these chosen lenses would have on the wearer’s vision. It was no small task, but in the end we gave them something their opticians loved.

The app begins by quizzing the patient with some basic information about themselves --including age and lens prescription. Then the user answers some questions about their lifestyle, mostly stuff that informs the app how much time they spend indoors versus outdoors, and then how much of that time is spent in front of a screen. Armed with this data, the app then recommends an appropriate lens package.

But the part opticians really liked was the finalé, when the app presents a series of scenes, indoors and out. By sliding a touch wiper across the screen, the patient can then simulate how that scene will look with and without their new glasses. Glasses, we might add, that just about sell themselves.
